Bar code faxing delivery options include send to printer, network directory, e-mail address, document management system or custom application. Bar codes can be printed directly on the documents or used as batch separator pages. Separator pages can be kept or discarded. The TargetFax Barcode Server currently supports more than 15 different 1D barcodes. The Advanced Barcode component supports specific linear bar codes and over twenty 2D bar codes for bar code data collection. MFD Devices The TargetFax Barcode Server also supports receiving images and bar code data collection through bar code faxing from any MFD, copier or scanning device that can deliver the document to a network accessible directory in either TIFF or PDF format using index-based filenames. The most common bar code in use today for complex document processing and symbolic encryption is PDF417 (shown below). PDF417 is a 2D bar code that holds a maximum of around 1600 characters. These are commonly used to pass structured information, such as data filled in on a form.
